Properties: Group III, Group V compound semiconductors of the periodic table. Covalent bond bonding, with a certain ionic bond component. Cubic crystal sphalerite structure. When 0≤x≤0.53, it is a direct bandgap semiconductor. When 0.53≤x≤1, it is an indirect bandgap semiconductor; the forbidden band width varies with x in the range of 1.43~2.26eV. A heterojunction can be made by epitaxy on a gallium arsenide substrate. It is a material for preparing a semiconductor visible light emitting device.
